Leavesden Studios
Location: Leavesden, Watford, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom
Information: Leavesden Studios is the primary Harry Potter filming
location. It includes the sets of The Great Hall, The Moving Staircases,
Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade, Gryffindor Tower, and Dumbledore’s Office. Scenes
that have been filmed at Leavesden Studios in Goblet of Fire include all
Great Hall scenes, Quidditch World Cup scenes, and Pensieve scenes.
Leavesden Studios is equipped with a 100 acre back lot to offer a 180
degree uninterrupted horizon and is the UK’s first purpose-built film
studio complex. It provides 1.6 million square feet of high quality film
studios, office accommodations, and amenities within a 300-acre parkland
setting.

Exmoor, Devon
Location: Outside Leavesden Studios, South-west England
Information: Outdoors filming was switched from Glencoe to Exmoor. Most
on-location shooting will be done here. Exmoor is partially located in
Devon (29%), and partially located in Somerset (71%), however filming will
only be taking place in Devon. It is described as an ancient beautiful and
unspoilt landscape with a dramatic coastline and fast flowing rivers.

Glencoe, Scotland
Information: Glencoe will only be used as second-unit filming, due to poor conditions
that affect the filming.

Steall Falls, Glen Navis
Location: Fort Williams, Scotland
Information: In September of 2004, Glen Navis was used to film the first
task for the Triwizard Tournament. It is described as being the heart the
Western Highlands, and having dramatic hills, green woodlands, heather
moors, and unforgettable views with magnificent sunsets.

Kings Cross Station
Information: Kings Cross Station plays itself; where the Hogwarts students
go to get on the Hogwarts Express.

The Bodleian Library
Location: Oxford University, United Kingdom
Information: The Bodleian Library at Oxford was used to film the Defense
Against the Dark Arts scenes in which Mad-Eye Moody turns Draco Malfoy
into a ferret, and when Moody demonstrated the Three Unforgivable Curses.

Beacon Hill
Location: Ivinghoe Hills, near Berkhamsted, England
Information: Beacon Hill was used to film the Portkey scenes. It is a 350
acre grass farm with 40 acres of ancient beech woods and brush, and lies
768 feet above sea level.

Black Rock Gorge
Location: Evanton, Scotland
Information: Black Rock Gorge is being used as a backdrop for at least
one scene in Goblet of Fire where Harry is chased into a gorge. It is a
very deep and narrow 21,000-acre estate that is 125 feet (38 meters) deep,
and one mile (1.6 Kilometers) long.

Virginia Water Lake
Location: Surrey, England
Information: In November of 2004, a scene including a conversation between
Harry, Hermione and Ginny was filmed at Virginia Water Lake. This scene
was filmed between the ancient ruins of Virginia Water and its famous
waterfall.

Ashridge Woods
Location: Ashridge, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom
Information: The scenes filmed at Ashridge Woods are mainly those of
Harry, Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Fred, George and Arthur Weasely walking to
the Quidditch World Cup. It is located in north Hertfordshire and is
described as a generally heavily wooded area.

Glenfinnan Viaduct
Location: Glenfinnan, Scotland
Information: The scene filmed here was that of the Hogwarts Express
travelling over the famous Viaduct on its’ way to Hogwarts. Glenfinnan lies
at the head of Loch Shiel, stretching south west for twenty miles to
Acharacle.
